Ninebark, Ginger Wine®

Physocarpus opulifolius, Ginger Wine® PP28695

Description

Ninebark Ginger Wine® is an elaborate, cold hardy, native shrub with attractive flowers and foliage from spring to autumn. Leaves emerge as orange and bronze in spring, and turn burgundy in summertime. In late spring, quarter-inch white-pink flowers emerge in small clusters. Foliage in autumn is a mixture of reds, bronzes, and burgundy. In the winter, the bark of older branches is tan and slightly peels, creating an interesting visual effect. Ninebark grows densely in full sun, tolerates a mixture of soil types, and is loved by beneficial pollinators.
