Hellebore, also known as Lenten Rose, is one of the first to flower, sometimes even when snow still covers the ground. Varieties have blooms in a range of colors from white to pink to deep purple. Royal Heritage(™) Strain blooms are multi-color and make great fresh cut flowers. Hellebore is also an evergreen and grows well in full shade. It prefers average and dry soil types. As a ground cover, it adds dimension to planting beds, and will do well in winter containers too.
